Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Jamie Heward left Thursday's game against the Capitals on a stretcher midway through the third period. With just over 13 minutes left in the stanza, Alex Ovechkin checked Heward into the boards head-first and he fell to the ice. The 22-year-old also has appeared in 23 games for Norfolk this season, scoring eight goals and 10 assists.
