04/09/2008 - St. Petersburg, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Tampa Bay Rays placed designated hitter/outfielder Cliff Floyd on the 15-day disabled list with a medial meniscus tear in his right knee on Wednesday, a day after pitcher Matt Garza headed to the DL.
Floyd, who signed a one-year deal with a club option in the offseason. is scheduled to undergo surgery Friday morning and a return date is unclear. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Coco Eaton.
Floyd was 5-for-15 in the early going this season, with two home runs and five RBI.
The club recalled outfielder Justin Ruggiano from Triple-A Durham to fill Floyd's roster spot.
