08/14/2008 - San Diego, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The San Diego Padres placed pitcher Chris Young on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 11, with a strained right forearm on Thursday.

The righty suffered the injury on Sunday in the Padres' 16-7 win over the Colorado Rockies. In that game, he allowed seven runs and nine hits over four innings and did not factor in the decision.

This is Young's second stint on the DL this season. On May 21 he suffered a nasal fracture and laceration to his nose after being struck in the face by a line drive off the bat of Albert Pujols in the third inning of game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Over 13 starts this season, the 29-year old is 4-4 with a 4.74 ERA with 40 walks and 66 strikeouts. In parts of five seasons with the Texas Rangers and Padres, Young has a mark of 39-26 with a 3.79 ERA.
