The 32-year-old Castro was placed on the DL on March 30th, retroactive to March 21st, with a right hamstring injury.
To make room for Castro, the club designated catcher Raul Casanova for assignment.
Casanova batted .283 (13-for-46) with a home run and six RBI in 12 games with the Mets this season.
